CUSTOMS CLEARANCE / TRANSPORTATION / MATERIALS HANDLING
Clarkson Conway Inc has a partnership in place with Mendelssohn Customs and Transportation Services (contact Diane Labbe Deegan (514-987-2700 ext 23). Mendelssohn does the majority of customs clearance and transportation activities for all the Montreal hotels.
Transportation logistics and customs clearance are arranged by Mendelssohn agents. The freight is forwarded to Clarkson Conway’s advance warehouse prior to the event. Clarkson Conway ensures delivery to the booth, storage of empties and return of the freight to the warehouse.
Mendelssohn is also a FEDEX Express Partner and offers a small shipment (under 99 lbs) service at move-out.
A representative is on-site at show closing and collects small shipments for FEDEX pick up. The charges to the exhibitor are the same as if they ordered directly through FEDEX. Clarkson Conway will waive materials handling charges on these outbound shipments as a FEDEX agent collects freight from the show floor. Clarkson Conway will also waive small package materials handling charges for FEDEX or UPS shipments arriving at the hotel during set-up hours. A Clarkson Conway representative at the dock will deliver the small packages to the booth. Exhibitors are permitted to transport materials in the hotel and may bring equipment themselves.
Note that there is no exclusivity on customs, transportation or materials handling services. Exhibitors are free to use any avenue they choose.mes no responsibility for acts or omissions by the contractor, his employees or agents.
