ABSTRACT 1039 | POSTER T-086
NEW INSTRUMENTS AND CONCEPTS FOR ACTIVE AND PASSIVE REMOTE SENSING OF COMPLEX WATERS
The development and validation of regional bio-optical models for optically complex waters is not an easy and not completely solved task. This is due, not least, to the fact that in the practice of in situ measurements of water quality parameters, there are no methods and tools for rapid, high-performance surveying, which at the same time have sufficient accuracy. This report examines new tools and techniques developed by the LIFeLiDAR team and designed to take steps to solve the described complex problem for non-standard waters. In particular, the technical characteristics of the new LIF LiDAR presented at the conference for simultaneous registration of chlorophyll, CDOM, and TSM with a frequency of 20 Hz and without mechanical disturbance of the medium, as well as a new portable gyrostabilized sensor for hyperspectral measurements of water color, are considered in detail. A description of the joint use of devices in continuous operation from aboard high-speed vessels is provided, as well as evidence of their applicability and effectiveness. The existing limitations of the applicability of these technologies are discussed, as well as uncertainties and errors are assessed, and ways to reduce them are proposed.
