REGISTRATION AND ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

Welcome to the Ocean Optics XXIV registration information page.

Steps to Register. All registrants must establish an online account with The Oceanography Society’s registration system. Once established, those credentials will allow access to the registration, abstract submission, and mobile app systems.

Submitting an Abstract. Please note that participants who plan on submitting an abstract for the conference need to register for the conference first. Once that step has been completed, a link to the abstract submission system will be provided. The registration payment is not due until 90 days after registration.

Reduced Rates for TOS Members. Members of The Oceanography Society are eligible to register at discounted registration rates. Learn more and join TOS.

Travel Support. Limited travel support may be available for graduate students and early career scientists depending on the location where the applicant is based and the type of research being conducted. Select the option to apply for travel support when completing the online registration form. Notifications about travel support will be provided in summer 2020. CHANGES DUE TO COVID-19

Several changes have been implemented to provide flexibility for conference participants while also keeping the planning process on track:

1. The submission deadline for abstracts to be reviewed for oral presentations remains May 1, 2020; however, the registration payment will not be due until 90 days after registration. By not moving the abstract deadline, the Planning Committee will be able to conduct the blind review of abstracts and schedule the oral presentation program. When completing the registration process, attendees can choose “invoice me” as the payment method.

2. Abstracts submitted for presentation only as posters may be submitted until September 10, 2020.

3. The deadline for submitting nominations for the Jerlov Award has been changed to June 1, 2020. Please go to the Jerlov Award web page for additional details.

The process of registering for the conference and then receiving a link to the abstract submission system in the confirmation message remains the same as it was in past years. All registrants can choose “invoice me” as the payment method when completing the registration process. Using this procedure helps us keep everyone informed on the status of abstract review, program schedules, and other important matters.

If circumstances (e.g., existing global health situation) dictate that the conference cannot be held, registrants will receive a full refund of registration fees.
