ABSTRACT 769 | POSTER M-087

Comparison of data from TriOS’s RAMSES system with data from Aeronet-OC obtained from Socheongcho Ocean Research Station

Established in 2014, the Socheongcho Ocean Research Station is located about 30 kilometers south from Socheong Island on the west coast of South Korea and is a comprehensive ocean observation station with various observation equipment for ocean and meteorological observations. In addition, two systems are installed to measure remote sensing reflectance data required for calibration/validation of GOCI, GOCI-II, and other ocean color satellite data. One is the Aeronet-OC system, registered as No. 930, where the CE-318 model was installed and operated from October 2015 to October 2023, and the CE-318 T model was installed and operated from November 2023 to the present. The other is TriOS’s RAMSES system, which was installed at a fixed frame and has been in operation since July 2020. The Socheongcho Ocean Research Station is a large structure where researchers can stay for a period of time, and we used the RAMSES system and a mobile frame to directly measure remote sensing reflectance. The purpose of this study is to derive a method to verify the quality of RAMSES system data by comparing with Aeronet-OC data by matching RAMSES system data with No. 930 data based on the Lwn Level 1.5 and 2.0 data of No. 930 available on the Aeronet website.
