THE HELP HUB: INTRODUCING NASA’S NEW INTERACTIVE LEARNING RESOURCE FOR SATELLITE OCEAN COLOR DATA PROCESSING, AND MORE!

With the recent launch of the PACE mission, new data streams from OCI, SPEXone, and HARP2 are enabling a revolutionary approach to ocean color and atmospheric analyzes. Recognizing the need to maximize these opportunities, we developed the Help Hub as an extension of NASA’s Ocean Biology Distributed Archive Center (OB.DAAC) help resources. The Help Hub empowers both novice and expert users to efficiently find and process data online without needing advanced software installations and a large amount of setup time. It features interactive tutorials that allow for real-time data interaction, with practical exercises to test their new knowledge and reinforce learning. Developed and refined by a collaboration between scientists and end-users, each educative resource undergoes rigorous quality control to ensure technical accuracy, user accessibility, and educative quality. After quality control, a communications and promotion system ensures that the users hear about tutorials as soon as they are released. The Help Hub aims at making NASA’s data processing more accessible so users can focus on the science.
